Press conference and protest walk “They would have still been with us”

December 10th – International day of human rights. SOS Nikšić, Shelter and Women’s Rights Center had organized a media conference where we introduced the public with a fact that we sued 10 state officials for not using their own legal authorizations to protect the rights of domestic violence victims.

After the press conference, we organized a protest walk “They would have still been with us” passing by Trg Nezavisnosti, Supreme State Prosecutor’s office and buildings of Parliament and Government. We wanted to point out on unconscionable behavior of institutional officials in cases of domestic violence against women.

The participants of the protest walk were wearing different transparents saying: “Femicide is a crime and you are an accomplice”, “Killed because they were women”, “Silence encourages the violence”, “Have we done everything we could?”, “Closing eyes towards problems does not make you invisible”, etc.
