„Collaboration and intervention – stop family violence“

Within international campaign “16 days of activism against violence towards women”, in period between 25.11. – 10.12.2015, there was an action organized aiming in promoting intersector collaboration, connecting institutions in order to improve interventions against family violence. Public gatherings titled as “Cooperation and intervention – stop family violence”, were held on main city squares in Podgorica, Pljevlja and Nikšić.

These gatherings are followed with several positive effects: including innovative form of communication with public, regarding prevention of the problems, exchange of knowledge and good practice in area of intervention, promoting interinstitutional cooperation and raising awareness of local public on violence problems.

SOS telefon Nikšić organized this action together with Women’s Rights Center, Shelter from Podgorica and O.C. „Bona Fide“ – Pljevlja, and in cooperation with Ministry for Human and Minority Rights. Police Department Montenegro and security centers Podgorica, Nikšić and Pljevlja participated as partners in this action.

These gatherings were part of the global worldwide campaign “16 days of activism against violence towards women”, supported by around 2000 organizations withing 100 countries around the world. The campaign has started on 25th of November, on International day of fight against violence toward women, and it ended on 10th of December, on International day of Human Rights.
